My solar panel is located about 10' from the small patio. (Left) In the shade!
My wife did not like the original spot so... this is a temporary location. I plan on moving it closer to the property line. (left 10 more feet.) I am going to get a water proof junction box and then buy some underground rated wire. Solar panel is an Intersolar amorphous 14W. (I think out of business) 22Ah battery. Morningstar 12V 10A Sunlight controller. Malibu landscape lights (4W) Replacement bulbs from http://www.superbrightleds.com 8 led type. (0.56W)

Here is a picture of the new location.
![]() The next modification I plan on doing is adding a small inverter inside the box. Then I am going to wire up a switch/single outlet.

would you run the inverter 24/7 or is it just going to be controlled by the switch? I am trying to decide if running an inverter 24/7 is good or bad

It will be controlled by a switch.
It is one of those duplex outlets with the switch where one of the plugs should be. Running an inverter 24/7 would just be a waste of electricity. I am going to reuse an old 300W inverter I have had for ten years. I will be rewiring the on/off switch to the outlet. I may be able to finish it tonight. I plan on using it for my laptop or radio.

Actually, it is a circuit breaker. I got it when I was in school years ago.
Do a search for: car audio circuit breaker on eBay. Cheap when you think about it.
