I am sure you could do this if you wanted. Legal? I would not have a clue.

How much power would you get from this. Very little.

You could buy a dynamo powered LED flash light cheaper then the parts. ( I got one for Christmas, wind for 1 minute get light for 30.)

This one is really funny stuff. True telcos do supply talk battery at 48 volts, but it is very current limited to 60 ma and the resistance in the telephone line is so high makes it useless.
